Martin Nigel Davey
The Athlete

MND’s athletic career started on his first morning at school aged 4 by jumping the gates and running the 2 miles back home, the feat later repeated by his sister!

At 10 he was inspired by stories of the legendary runners - Ian Stewart, Brendan Foster and David Bedford, and so MND and his brother Shaun entered the fitness world.

Although money was scarce running was free, so they both quickly established themselves onto the running scene.

They competed for their club at every thing from 800m upwards on the track; they also went on to represent Warwickshire at track and cross country races. He also ran a marathon at just 15 with his brother Shaun 13!

Later turning to road racing, MND covered the mile in 4.09 and 10k in 30.30.

Into his twenties MND started training and racing on the bike, taking part in road time trials. Then, by combining the sports of swimming, cycling and running, started competing in triathlons.

After a few seasons he went on to represent Great Britain at the World Championships, in Italy, France and Germany.

He is still training and racing today, but a little further down the field! Enjoying the competition, the people and the atmosphere.

Martin also studied kickboxing for 10 years as a youth and has taken part in many filmed combat scenes.
